NAfME Membership Types

 

  The National Association for Music Education offers a variety of membership types to meet the needs of all individuals.  
   

 

Active Membership. Open to individuals engaged in music teaching or other music-related educational work. Each active member has the right to vote and hold office and receives a subscription to Music Educators Journal and Teaching Music. All active members hold concurrent membership in their respective federated state association of NAfME.

Active Spousal. Open to NAfME active member spouses engaged in music teaching or other music-related educational work. All spousal members hold concurrent spousal membership in their respective federated state association of NAfME.

Retired Membership. This membership is for our retired members.

Retired Spousal. This membership is for spouses of our retired members.

Associate membership. Open to those interested in the advancement of music education, but are otherwise “not primarily engaged” in music teaching. Note: Members in this category will receive online access to NAfME magazine and journal subscriptions (no hard copies). State music education membership is not included in this category. Full-time music educators are not eligible for this category.

Collegiate Membership. Open to individuals engaged in or in school for music teaching or other music-related educational work. Each active member has the right to vote and hold office and receives a subscription to Music Educators Journal and Teaching Music. All active members hold concurrent membership in their respective federated state association of NAfME.

International Collegiate Membership. Open to individuals engaged in or in school for music teaching or other music-related educational work. Each active member has the right to vote and hold office and receives a subscription to Music Educators Journal and Teaching Music. All active members hold concurrent membership in their respective federated state association of NAfME.
