District Director Election, Bios, and Pictures

Nominations and letters of intent to run for district director were accepted by the Immediate Past-President, who serves as elections chair, from November 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018.
 
As posted in The Louisiana Musician, the Past-President received these nominations for the 2019 District Director Elections.
District I:  Greg Oden
District II:  Jessica Fain
District III:  Brett Babineaux
District IV:  Katie Codina
District V:  Evan McAleer, Sharon Stephenson
District VI:  Guy Wood
District VII:  Jim Trant
District VIII:  Cheryl Corkran, Michele Deslattes
District IX:  Jessica Lizana
 
Voting in Districts V and VIII will be open from March 1, 2019 through March 15, 2019. Links to the appropriate electronic ballot will be sent to current members of District V and VIII via email and will require a login.
 
At the May 2019 LMEA Board meeting, the election chair (Past-President) will announce the results of the election. (The winners of those districts will be notified ahead of time so they can be present at the meeting.) In addition to accepting the results of these elections, it will be recommended that all unopposed candidates for the 2019-2021 term of District Director be accepted by acclamation. The new term for District Directors will begin once this occurs.
 
District Directors are elected by the current membership of their respective districts for a two-year term in odd calendar years. President and Division Chairs are elected by the current state membership for a two-year term in even calendar years. The Immediate Past-President serves as the elections chair for both election cycles.
