The Louisiana Music Educators Association is pleased to announce a call for research reports for presentation at a Research Poster Session at the LMEA Conference. Posters will be on display during the conference with a special presentation session on November 18, 2018.
Research studies exemplifying qualitative, quantitative, philosophical and historical methodologies will be considered for this session. Submissions of “Graduate Research” and
“Action Research” completed by music educators in his or her classroom/rehearsal hall are also encouraged. Authors whose reports are selected will present their research during a research poster session in which interested music educators can learn about the research and discuss applications to music teaching and learning with the authors.
Research on Advocacy, Band, Classroom Music (Elementary, Middle or High School), Choral, Curriculum Development/Assessment, Early Childhood, Guitar, Higher Education, Jazz, Leadership/Mentoring, Music Theory, Orchestra/Strings, Special Learners, SMTE ASPA Research, Technology, Urban/World Music, Music Pedagogy, and Music and Music Education Research will be accepted.
Traditional posters (30” x 40”) as well as electronic posters will be displayed. Researchers choosing to bring electronic media need to provide their own equipment and power supply/ battery. The author(s) of each accepted paper will be present at the poster session on November 18, 2018 to discuss their project with other interested music educators. The author(s) should furnish 20 copies of the abstract at the presentation.
Form and abstract must be submitted (time-stamped) by midnight September 14, 2018.
Review of submissions
A qualified panel will review all submissions. Notification will be made by October 12, 2018. Submissions will not be returned.
