Membership in LMEA is a joint membership with NAfME.

The National Association for Music Education (NAfME), founded in 1907, supports music education at all levels through research and content, professional development, advocacy, events for teachers and students, and a variety of other membership and support services. Louisiana Music Educators Association (LMEA) is a federated state association of NAfME. As such, its members are entitled to all the benefits of belonging to the national organization. They are also eligible to participate in the state organization’s events and assessments.

LMEA Mission Statement: The mission of the Louisiana Music Educators Association is to provide leadership, professional development, and support for its membership to ensure quality music education.

If renewing, you will need to enter the same email address used last year even if your email has changed this year. Once you’re logged in you’ll be able to update your personal information. Please update your information.

Membership Benefits

LMEA membership is required of ensemble directors whose students audition for All-State. Membership also enables students and ensembles to participate in district solo and small ensemble assessments, state solo festival, and large ensemble assessments at greatly reduced prices. Teachers are able to take advantage of a discounted price for the LMEA Professional Development Conference and are represented in all advocacy initiatives.
